No. It is enough to loosen the front suframe bolts a bit, and remove
the rear ones. The subframe will hang down enough to allow access to
all the oil pan bolts. Done this a couple of times now, on my Coupe and
my 90Q.

No, not on the five cyclinder cars. The subframe bolts to the main
frame, and the only thing attached to it are the lower control arms.
