Bleeding brakes on A6 Quattro

Hello!
About 2 weeks ago I did a brake job on my parents 97 A6 Quattro Avant - new
pads, rotors, fluid flush/bleed. Everything was in order and we bled the
brakes using the usual one-person-person-pumping, one-person-at-the-bleeder
technique. The pedal felt a hair soft to me at the time. Now it seems the
pedal is quite soft, seeming to need almost full travel to bring the car to
a halt - pretty consistent with needing to be bled again.
Is there a special technique required to bleed the brakes on the A6 ie:
vaccuum or pressure bleeding?
The next time I am in there, I want to make sure its the last time I'll need
to! (at least until these brakes are worn out)
TIA
