exhaust insulation

On the top of EM insulation...
has anyone ceramic or pwodercoated there Audi EM/header?
i have seen this done on other vehicles and then you can actually paint
then EM and have it retain the color!
also with the design of the 10v's it would prevent exhaust heat from rising
up to the intake manifold which would prevent power loss from hot intake...
any experience or thoughts on this...
while i still have my header from my 4kq off the car?
