>87: Walter Röhrl S1 Pikes Peak (Röhrl translates to Roehrl in ASCII)

Correct, This was the SQ S1 Pikes Peak car, it is distinguished by the
large rear wing, a front wing attached in front of the front valence and
the very large NACA duct designed into the roof which routed air into
the trunk cavity to the oil cooler and radiator(s). Because of the NACA
duct, there really was not a rear window. Also note that this car is the
same chassis that was used by Bobby Unser in 1986.

>Mouton: 85, probably an SQ S1.

Not quite correct, the car she used was the normal SQ rally car, no massive
rear wing and no massive front valence. She also drove with Fabriza P. as
a navigator during the hillclimb.

>Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe he calls it an A2 as it is an A2?
>The A2 was the last evolution stage of the long wheelbase quattro.
>However, this car looks not like a standard A2.
>It has the SQ venting grilles in the hood/bonnet
>but fewer venting grilles in the bumper than I have seen on any A2/A1.
>Oh, wait a moment, this is an SQ (not S1) hood-bumper assortment.
>These things shoud not be on any long wheelbase Urq, should they?

Correct, the real rally prepped Grp4/A1/A2 urq did not use a SQ front end.

>The air intakes at the rear fenders seem fake, can you confirm that?
>I don't know if this is the artic trim,
>but standard A2s would have both holes open.
>And the oil-cooler beneath the rear spoiler is sealed/closed at this car.
>I have no pics from Scandinavian Rallyes, but all pics I have show

>not closed by a board.

>and not the result of a fan adding those "Audi Racing" parts he could get a
