'91 CQ Radiator Cover

I have a '91 CQ (20V) with 86k miles. There is a multi-piece plastic part that
houses the area in front of the radiator between the PS pump and drivers side
fender. This area is capped off by a plastic cover between the headlight and
the radiator.

The plastic in this area is disintegrating. I am thinking of just removing all
these plastic pieces infront of the radiator. I have not had the undercover on
since I bought the car new, which may have contributed to the demise of these
pieces.

Are there any adverse effects to the removal of these plastic pieces in front
of the radiator?
