overweight drivers who couldn't compete with "*really* fast cars." Why not
point out that they're all Southern rednecks while you're at it? That would
be new one... If you had voiced your "biggest" objection instead of
stereotyping the drivers, maybe the reaction would be different. I am a big
fan of the "run what ya brung" style of racing, and I agree that NASCAR
shouldn't refer to them as "stock cars."

Hmmm, I am a racing fan, I'm sorry if my post wasn't clear about that, and
I never said the list doesn't want to discuss it. The reason I looked at your
post was because I _am_ interested in F1. It was when you started going
off on NASCAR racing in a stereotypical manner that I had a problem. You
were bringing nothing new to the table, and you weren't discussing F1.
Many of your complaints about NASCAR I agree with. (oval tracks, calling
them stock, etc.) I do like the "racing aspect" of cars, you just weren't
discussing it in a constructive manner, and you weren't even close to
having Audi content. I don't particularly care for drag racing, but I don't
post
to the list about it. No wait, I once compared Shirley Muldowney to Michele
Mouton as a groundbreaking female in her respective area of motorsport.
Damn, what a dis.
BTW, I would love to be able to consider myself a wrenchhead, but
compared to many people on this list, I'm not. I only got jackstands in the
past year, and my skill as wrench is apprentice level at best. I am a much
bigger race fan than I am a wrenchhead.

I agree, that would be pretty cool.

I hate to sound like Mom, but I think "if you can't say something nice, don't
say it at all" applies to this situation. Besides, your subject line asks for
complaints. So you got a few.
