well, more specifically just the 2nd "R", re-installation!
I had to replace the electrical portion of the ignition switch on my
4ktq (long story) and when I went to go put the ignition switch back on
the steering column I noticed that after everything was assembled there
is about a 1/4" of play if you push on the steering wheel.
My guess is the problem has something to do with those stupid lock
washers that hold the spring behind the steering wheel. I had trouble
getting those things to stay in place let alone be pushed in so the
spring would be under a decent amount of tension.
Anybody else BTDT? Do I just need to get new spring clips or
something? I tried bending them in a bit to give them a little more
bite on the steering column, but it didn't seem to help.
Thanks!
