I have a 1998 A4 30V V6 as well, tiptronic, and 95k miles. I just had
my timing belt done. It is either due at 75k or 90k, don't know which,
but you are due.

I had the same issue (slow oil drip) and yes, it was the valve cover
gaskets, so get ready to replace those too. You don't want oil dripping
all over your nice new timing belt.
