turbo diesel engine swap?

I understand that at one point, there was a B2 platform Audi ('82 or 83
4000???) which was equipped with a 72hp, 1.6L, 4 cyl turbo diesel
engine.  My questions for the group are:

1. was this model sold in the US at any point?
2. Is this engine (or any other vw/audi TD engine) easily swapped into
an '85-'87 4kq?
3. Is this engine the same as the VW turbo diesel from the A2 jettas?  I
believe the 1.6L turbo diesel in the jettas were only 59hp??

I really like the idea of quattro + turbo-diesel.

Also, anyone know if the A4 sedan or avant with the TDI V6 will be sold
in the US at any point in the future??
