Audi 4000 fog lights?

There is a metal bumper mount directly behind the dummy reflector, no room to mount fogs there. What I did was to move turn signals from bumper to the corner lens, and install a set of hella 550 (square) driving lights in place of the stock bumper turn signal. THis was a bit involved- required cutting away a bit of the aluminum bumper (used a jigsaw) and modifing the lights (remove from housing) to fit and mount in the avaiable space. End result looks good cosmeticly and the resulting hi-beam lighting as compared to stock is vastly improved.

Hello All,

I just bought a set of Bosch fog lights for my '85 4000q. They are
rectangular and appear to be about the same size as those NLA clear
reflectors on the front bumper. Does anyone know if these fogs they can
be mounted in place of those reflectors to maintain a "factory"
appearance?

The lights were advertised as being "for" Audi 4000, but the kit appears
to be a generic kit. It includes a relay, wiring, and dash switch.

The dash switch is an ugly generic toggle switch - Did Audi offer fog
lights as a factory or dealer option on the 4000? If so, I'd like to
use the factory switch instead. I'm hoping there is a factory switch
that fits into one of those switch blanks on either side of the
instrument cluster...

I google'd the web and groups but didn't find anything helpful.

Thanks,
George
