87 4000q help with: mirror removal, shift boot, flasher relay

 tried to take the mirror out of my driverside door today and couldn't,
I know you are sopposed to stick a screwdriver throught the hole and
turn the ring, but there was like a ruber boot over everything inside of
the mirror housing, is it different on an 87 csq? please help, also, how
do you remove the boot that goes over the shift shaft as it leaves the
car, mine is damaged, and it is TOTALLY blocked by the transfer case. Is
there any easy way to do this?

Also...when I removed my cluster to repair the lights, I unplugged the
harness for the relay on the back of the cluster (I think it is the
flasher for the signals). When I did, the harness like disintegrated and
I was left with just three wires, one is a single shite wire one is
double white and black wires and one is double brown wires. Could
someone tell me which order they go in, I also may have fried the relay,
so if anyone has a spare, and the spare harness that they are willing to
donate, please e-mail me. also, anyone with a spare set of e-brake
cables let me know.
