Good parts car?

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but I was hoping to get some opinions on a
parts car. I have an 87 5kcstq. I'm looking to get a parts car for it,
and have found a pretty good deal on an 86 5kstq (VIN ending in 092286).
It looks like most the parts are interchangeable, but I was wondering
what parts would not be.

I'm mostly concerned about the engine, sensors, and engine management. I
plan to swap the interior (dash, seats, door panels) and maybe the hood.
IIRC, those should fit w/o any trouble. My car's running fine now, but I
figure having a good spare parts car wouldn't hurt at all.
