'86 5ktq brake pad sensor wires

Esteemed group: my ’86 5ktqa has a broken wire somewhere. Well, truth be
told, there’s probably many more than I know about, but the ones I’m asking
about are the brake pad wear sensor wires. They are the wires that go from
the brake pads to ??? that’s the question: is there a central computer
(probably) that these wires all come to where I can short them together?
Somewhere, one is broken between the computer and the wheel, and rather than
follow each one back from the wheel, I’m hoping I can just go to the source
of the warning light. They were already crimped off well back from the
wheel, so they have been dead longer than I’ve had the car.
