As a follow-up to Zsolt's post re Oxy sensors:

I purchased two VW sensors (part # 06A-906-262-Q) and installed them in both
of my 5TQs. They appear to work fine.

The list price for these is $40.68 CDN which is about $29 US.

These are 4-wire sensors. They are not grounded through the housing so
require a ground connection.

Info is on page 97-725 in the Golf-Jetta manual, item G130 (Oxy sensor
behind catalytic converter).

Wiring is terminal 1 and 2 (white) sensor heater. Terminal 3 (gray) ground.
Terminal 4 (diagram says blue, wire sure looks black to me) sensor signal to
ecu.

I spliced the wires to my old Audi connectors (soldered and shrink tubed)
and ran the extra ground wire to the ground terminal on the plate near the
back of the intake manifold (which already has a ground wire on it).

As an extra bonus, the VW plug can be disassembled and the pins used to
attach test leads to the many female connectors in the Audi (like the ISV).

Canadian Tire stores across Canada stock a Bosch sensor (part # 15735, price
unknown), the VW one under part # 23-2818: this is the same as Zsolt's
13913) and an NKG universal sensor (part # 21026) for $92.00 CDN.
