Andrew, I feel for you, sorry for the loss!

Actually, this may not have any value in the US, but if you're getting an
expert to see the car and he confirms the T-Belt snapped because of a bad
TB itself, then Audi should replace or repair your engine at no charge as
this is their fault. If however, the T-Belt was due for 5 miles and hasn't
been replaced, you'll get nothing... at least this is how it works here,
and in some cases it's lawyer time as well, but it works if the fault is on
their side.
