Big freaking vent against Audi

My personal opinion is that the Audi V6 timing belt should be changed at
60K miles. Not so much because of the belt, but because of the water
pump that the timing belt drives. The water pumps usually last 60-70k miles.
If you read the original poster's 1st or second post to the list, there
was an indication of an oil leak onto the timing belt that most likely
caused the premature failure.
SO, take off the timing covers and check for oil leaks, if you see one,
go to the dealer and have it fixed under warranty, and make sure they
change the timing belt if there is evidence of oil on the timing belt.
Otherwise, I personally would NOT worry about the timing belt until 60K
miles.
