CAUTION - virus with good cover

Microsoft DOES NOT send unsolicited e-mails.
These e-mails contain a virus.
If you are receiving multiple messages regarding security, you probably
already have a computer virus. Most likely you will need a virus scan by
an external system (bench scan) of your hard drive to get rid of it.
Some of the newest (last two weeks) virus attacks can sneak by even if you
don't open attachments. Their first target is your antivirus program.
The way to avoid this problem is to operate your mailer program the most
safe way possible and UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE.
First, don't use the mailer to open messages in a preview fashion. It's a
pain, but download to nonpreview settings, so you have to double click to
open a message. You can just trash those with attachments you aren't
expecting or from folks you don't know.
Microsoft IS producing protective as well as functional updates. You can
have your Windoze based computer updated for the latest security measures
by regularly visiting http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com. Connecting will
let their system check your computer for whatever updates it currently
lacks, and then you can choose which ones you want to download and install.
USE an antivirus service. You can get free stuff from Grisoft, Symantec,
McAfee, etc., or you can purchase newer, better services for fairly low
prices. The thing is that you need to update your virus program routinely.
I used Grisoft's AVG for free for a couple of years, but decided recently
to purchase their most recent version partly because it automatically
updates the software each time the computer gets hooked to the internet.
