1986 5000 CSTQ Oil Cooler Modification

Rebuilding the motor on 1986 5000 CSTQ and the oil
cooler and oil cooler lines are really badly crusted.
Does anyone have experience installing other oil
coolers or some modifications, like a bigger cooler,
other locations, etc. It seems that this is a very
small cooler, and that it picks up a lot of road dirt,
salt, etc from its low mounted position.  Any comments
would be appreciated.
