Snow tire query: Green Diamond?

Hey...

It's the time of year for the Winter Tire Advice posts, so I figured
I'd get the ball rolling.

"Green Diamond" retreads used tires with a mixture of rubber and
carbide particles (http://greendiamondtire.com/productswis.html).  It
sounds like a great idea, but has anyone used these tires?  Do they do
all that the company claims?  Do they last?  How are they compared to,
say, Hakka 1s, or whatever winter tires you ran before?
