Good exhaust shop in NJ, or eastern PA for my CGT?

Last week, the wife finally tired of the "glass pack only" system (and frankly it was annoying to me too). It got REAL loud between 2,500-3,100 RPM. So it was replzced with: 2.25" pipe...18" glasspack as center resonator...2.25" pipe...Magnaflow rear muffler...single 2.25" angle cut tip. The whole system is aluminized and was painted high temp flat black except the tip which is chrome. Resonator & muffler have lifetime warranties, the rest is 2 year. Price? $175 courtesy of Big Al's Mufflers & Brakes.

The LOUD drone at 2,500-3,000 is GONE! It has a nice LOW rumble, not ricey at all. The exhaust sound is still noticable but only if you are listening for it and know what an exhaust should sound like. To the average driver it would be unnoticable unless you are at WOT, even then the engine is louder than the exhaust.

As for eliminating the center resonator, I was running a rear only system for a while, it was pretty loud betwen 2,500-3,300RPM. Hope that helps.

Subject: Good exhaust shop in NJ, or eastern PA for my CGT?

My 87.5 CGT lost an exhaust hanger, which had the natural consequences for
an aging system on a car from the northeast...weaknesses were exposed, shall
we say.

I'm intrigued & encouraged by many of your successes in choosing a good
muffler and going to a reputable muffler/speed shop to get the exhaust
system made (vs. paying for a Scorpion, Stebro, etc).

Does anyone know of a good shop in NJ or eastern PA who will work with me on
this? I don't really anticipate going down the local Midas on this one.

It looks like 2.25" & a Magnaflow is the most often cited combination. I'm
eager to hear BTDT's (including the possibility of eliminating the center
muffler) as well as shop suggestions.

Thanks
Jon
