Someone once broke into my father's car to steal the old Pioneer head 
unit.  They first tried to pry open the door with a crowbar between 
the B-pillar and top of the door; both required a fair amount of 
"reconstruction" and repainting.  When that failed(gee, I wonder 
why), the guy then smashed the small side window.

By the time he was done with the dash, it looked like a disaster 
area(crowbar was reapplied); a DIN tool, all of maybe $5 at the local 
auto parts store, would have done the job cleanly and easily.

The most amusing part?  The car was left unlocked(by accident) that 
day, the lock button clearly up for all the world to see.  The idiot 
didn't even bother to look or try the door handle.
