I don't buy it, the front main seal carrier *is* the oil pump, (gear driven
style). You can pull the little front bolts and pry on it 'til the cows come
home, it's not gonna come off without dropping the pan and undoing the pump
pickup tube.
You're thinking Vw 4cyl front main maybe?
