Question on baby safety

You can look up crash test results on the internet. IIRC though the ratings
are as compared to modern cars, so for example if it has 3 out of 5 stars,
that's only because modern cars are that much safer. I believe something
like a 90q to be a safe car, firstly with awd and abs and good road holding
you are less likely to be involved in an accident, and secondly if you are,
they are designed to crumple quite well. Ie the engine is designed to push
under the car, while the prop shaft collapses and/or pushes the rear sub
frame and diff out of the rear of the car, all this absorbing serious
impact.  Although all this is fairly irrelevant if the accident involves an
SUV. If you want the safest in crashes the SUV it has to be, but that is
contrary to its road holding manners, you could argue you are more likely to
be involved in an accident if you drive an SUV!!!!

Why WOULDN'T it be safe, Jeryd?? Considering how we were driven around by
our parents in the pre-carseat, pre-seatbelt era, almost anything is better
than that! I would think that any late-model Audi would be a very safe car,
structure-wise. Even without all of the airbags in the newest ones....
