I don’t remember what car was in the original post but here is a few
things to try.
If the car is a 5 cyl make sure your fuel pump relay is for a 5 cyl car.
Apparently the 4 cyl. Relays will cause a sort of rev-limiter action if
installed on a 5 cyl car.
Another thing is to remove the banjo bolt from the fuel line on the "in"
side of the fuel distributor. You may still have the little filter
inside the bolt that was supposed to be removed at the first service
interval by the dealer. Many cars still have them 100K miles later.
They were intended to filter out "stuff" from the manufacturing process.
Five Audis I've owned, three of them still had the filter.

list of new parts. I checked the resistance of all my wires, 2 had
6Kohms of
resistance like they should, but the other three were all infinit.
This did not solve my problem. I am going to completly disconect the cat
from the car to see if this could be it. But I dont think it is. The
engine
has full power up to (most of the time) 4000 rpm then at just 4100 it
just
stops accelerating. Then when I let go of the gas run the rpms down, it
runs
really bad. Like I have a spark plug wire off. But then it seems to
charge
back up to full power, and die again at 4100. I sometimes here the
lifters
klacking when I leave it at high rpm for 20 seconds or so.
