What *is* the average MPG of an 85 4KQ? I read it was 19city/22hgwy....

I'm planning on taking my 4KQ on a road trip (6200+ mi) this summer and am trying to budget fuel. Also, anyone have any suggestions on an "emergency kit", any breakdown stories? I'm sure my baby is going to have a surprise or two for me over all those miles in the desert with no friendly Audi mechanics in the vicinity. :)
thanks
Adam

This has been my experience on my 4kq. I tried
adjusting the dip switches on the instrument cluster-
could get it closer but still too high. Mine was
originally very high just like Mark's - reading around
28-29 mpg when actual was more like 19-20 mpg. About
a year later I did a full tune up, replaced a bunch of
the old vacuum hoses, and adjusted the basic setting
using the DPR w/ a multimeter and the little 3mm hex.
After that, my MPG gauge has been reading very close
to accurate, so the 3mm hex adjustment of the basic
setting does seem to impact the readings on the MPG
gauge.
