Top Gear reviewed the Legacy wagon, although it was Sube's 3.0 H-6, 
not the 2.5 turbo.  It was billed as having many of the same 
qualities- durable, practical, excellent traction, and good 
performance.  As seems to overall be the case with turbo vs NA 
engines, the 2.5 is likely to be less stellar in terms of 
reliability, but it has a few ponies up over the H6.
