Brake bomb, but wait there's more

I couldn't resist....

I have a used brake bomb, only 10 years old, externally in fine shape,
unknown charge level, you can install it and find out if it makes a
difference.

Sorry. Just kidding.

(Slightly different story working with James Bell, I have a passenger
regulator that was supposed to be a driver's regulator. But I chose to
keep the part anyway.)

I did in fact install a new bomb a weekend ago and found one more tech
tip that makes for good practice.

I had the whole hydraulic system opened up because this was new
hydraulic lines, new steering rack and new bomb time. I did prime the
pump but not the damper line to the accumulator. On start up I had no
pressure build up into the brake booster. Turns out the damper line
and/or the pump wasn't quite flowing well (perhaps an air bubble).
Removing the damper line at the accumulator, starting and letting about
2 oz of fluid flow out, then putting it back together solved the
problem. Sort of like bleeding brakes. In the future, I'd leave this
line open and let some pentosin flow out before closing it up.

I did a whole lot of stuff to this car over the last two weekends. New
water pump, timing belt, v-belts, water hoses, radiator, in addition to
the steering rack and accumulator. All pent up demand items and some PM.
On the steering rack you really ought to get the tie rod plate ahead of
time (431 419 853) because it's usually not a dealer stock item and gets
special ordered. The old one can be reused but not advisable.
