Hey-sus, I've received some pretty "heated" email about my comments on my
ole RX2 Mazda. Just to clarify, yes, the car used to burn inordinate
amounts of oil and light up like a forth of July fireworks display under
the hood on humid days, but I still loved to drive the car. I think
everyone should drive a Wankel (and a 12 cylinder and up) car before they
die, very distinct experience not easily forgotten.

The ole RX2 used to wind up losing nothing as the RPM's increased, and
would hold the highway on snow days (even though it was rear wheel drive
with poor student tires) like a quattro at times. It was kind of like a
car driven by a rubber band that was being wound faster than it was
unwinding. Of all the "popular" rice burners I've driven, the RX2 was
the only one I wouldn't classify as an "appliance" vehicle. YMMV.
