The A4's rear axle is not going to fit the 80, period.
type 44 rear axles will not fit either.

If the 80 in question is a type 89, then you can use the 87.5 CGT
rear axle along with all its rear disc brake parts (rare).  If the 80
is a type 81/85, then you probably have a 4x100 hub, in that case keep
the original axle, but use the rear disc brake parts from a VW Scirocco 16V,
Golf GTI or GLI from approx the same vintage.  You'll need to fab a couple
of hard brake lines.

All that said, it's really kind of pointless to just do a rear disc
brake upgrade.  The fronts do most of the work, so it makes sense to
start there, only when the fronts have been substantially upgraded
does it makes sense to also convert to rear discs.
