Pentosin actually is a manufacturer, not a product.  I use their power
steering fluid and brake fluid in both my Audis.

Maybe he didn't really "flush" it that effectively.  You only need a new 
rack if it has too much play, or leaks.  You only need a pump if it 
leaks or makes nasty noises.

I hope it is not too out of line to suggest a removal and replacement of 
the mechanic?
