monster projekt? (Chris Dyer)

I have seen Nic Montaserelli's CQ 4.2, he says that all alloy A8 motor
bolted to the stock 01A, motor mount adapters had to be fabbed, some
oil line plumbing, He used Electromotive TEC3 engine mgmt (034? efi a
simpler, more flexible choice?)

He has maps for pump gas and racing gas.

Looks like it was meant to be, room for a vortech blower left over
if you ditch the a/c, maybe could fit both.

Indeed it seems to make sense that it's lighter, obvious that weight is
lower and further back. Stock Coupe gearing is a little short for highway.

He swapped in B4 V6 Radiator/Nose/Hood... a late B4 sedan might be
easier/cheaper
to start with than a coupe, lighter/stiffer and more of a sleeper?

I betcha a Porsche Cayenne N/A V8 w/ 340 HP and 310 ft lb might match/fit
just as
well, "Porsche" castings would be cool.... I hate to wish bad luck on some
rich
soccer mom, but I bet a few will be turned into parts SUV's this winter!

I'm sure that's a $10,000 junkyard motor if its a nickel!

Ok, so because of brain damage, I'm thinking I might never sell my '87
5kcstq. I mean, it rocks. Not really, but ya know.

Anyway, sorry for the WOB, but one of my favorite web sites is GM
Goodwrench's crate motor page. I got a stupid idea in my head of creating a
monster (thanks, Discovery Channel). Like a LS1 V8 or Northstar V8 in the
ol' quat. C'MON, YA KNOW YOU WANT IT!

Could the stock clutch and tranny/diff handle 320 h.p.?

Anyone remember the lister who put a orvetteC motor in his type44 a few
years back? Does he have a web site?

t.i.a.

PS: FWIW, tweaking an Audi V8 isn't worth it...CA's smog laws make it easier
to simply replace w/ a newer motor.
