2001 CPO A6 2.7T vs leftover 2003 Passat W8

Go for the W8!

Really, just think about the "uniqueness" of the W8-M6. That's a real
"connoisseur" car, a car for people who can appreciate a technical "tour de
force".

OTOH, you can't go wrong with a blown V6 manually shifted... even if the
general american public might not understand why your car doesn't have a
V8-Tiptronic like all the others...

But the W8 still gets my vote.

Well, a fellow car-lounger over on Fourtitude (I moderate the 4000/CGT forum
there)threw a monkey-wrench in the works. I was all hopped up on picking up
a leftover 03 Passat W8 6-spd w/ sports suspension. I think I could pick it
up for around $25,000 (dealer demo with 5,800 miles). Well, this fellow
car-lounger pointed out that Audi is offering 0% financing on all CPO 2001
A6s (the best I could do on the W8 is 2.9%). I did some checking around and
a relatively low miles 2001 A6 2.7T quattro 6-spd runs about the same price.
I would rather have a 4.2 V8 but you can't get them with a manual tranie in
the USA and a stick shift is a MUST for me. I'd love to hear everyones
thoughts on which is the beter deal and better car, and why. Advice?
Thoughts?

TIA!

Dave
