Yes, it can, if the fuel pump cuts out car instantly dies. Jump the fuel
pump relay (wire across the two larger spades), if the problem stops
you've got a bad relay, or maybe some corrosion at the fuse box. Since
you recently changed the fuel pump, check the wires in the trunk for
chafing or grounding, or maybe even a loose connector at the sending
unit. I ll look at it.
I got that problem with my old 5000T, the engine jumped when the pump stop... but dont cut as it does on my 100Q, it s more shape.

If the cutting out occurs during acceleration, then you might have a
tear in the intake boot, push and lean on the boot and see if you can
replicate the cutout or make the car stumble.
Yes i know , i had this problem with my 90 and was the boot. But its not only on acc for the 100Q.

Then there's also the possibility of the coil cutting out, or even the
ignition switch...plenty in the Bentley on testing those.

A friends 1990 100 had a similar problem recently, drove us nuts trying
to figure it out because it was an intermittent problem...in this case it
ended up being a bad coil.

I ll try again my V8 coil, its identical to mine.
