Back After A Long, Long Time

Hello Audifans!
I was a member of the Quattro List years ago, when it was still at coimbra.ans.net and I owned a 4000 CS Quattro. It's been a long time, and more than one misadventure since then, and no small amount of aging (do they call it 'seasoning' still?) but I'm back....because...I've joyfully taken the plunge _*again!*_
The urge was impossible to resist when I saw the car: a 1987 5000 CS Turbo Quattro. 49,000 miles, five-speed, alacantara trim leather sport seats, moonroof, antilock, seat heaters, and an engine compartment that seems, apart from the usual road dirt/patinas of oxidation, like everything is original (the power steering pump has been replaced) and was kept in ship shape.
The engine has the common slight lifter tap which quiets as it warms, but the cold start is strong and healthy, and she settles right into high idle with no jitters or fluctuations. The engine is SMOOTH, both in throttle take-up and to the touch while it's running. Clutch take-up is silky and there are no untoward noises or vibrations in the driveline. The suspension is firm, about a half-jounce on rebound from compression with my (slightly overweight) frame at each corner. I will need new rear rotors - I don't think the originals have ever been off the car. Does ~ 49,000 miles sound about right?
Black, of course.
So after several years, I'm back on the Quattro list and I'm really looking forward to getting reacquainted with old friends here and hopefully making some new ones. All advice and help regarding parts sources and repairs that I can't handle myself here in Illinois will be gratefully accepted, and I'll do everything I can to blow the cobwebs out of my old memory modules and respond in kind.
Still (Audi) crazy after all these years,
Alex
