leaking fuel hose issue - thanks.

thanks to everybody that contributed to my fuel line leak problem
yesterday. you just can't beat the collective wisdom that a list
like this provides. within half a day, i had all my questions
answered and learned even more (on related topics).

as some had suggested (or know), it looks like this part is so
expensive, on an S6, because the line/hose is actually connected
right to the fuel rail. i found this out after looking at the
part further, after returning from the dealer. so, it would seem
a good used part, dependent on price, or having a new fitting
installed on the existing hose will be the solution.

on the recall issue, i have a close friend that works at NHTSA
and i'm going to see if he can't help me get this issue to someone
that might 'connect' it to the existing fuel leak recall. it
may take some time, but the 2 issues seem to be directly related
to me. maybe it takes longer, but the underhood heat from the
turbo appears to be aging/shrinking the secondary fuel hose also
and creating a leak at that hose's fitting(s). i will let everyone
here know what type of response i get.
