Stacy,
According to the family album, that is the correct number for your car.
Does the old one or the new one have a part number on it? You say this is the
right one, have you compared the left ones yet?
Maybe the ball joint that way on you car is the wrong one and was a
replacement a while back? Maybe chinese junk? Mayve PO replaced it wrong previously?
One way to tell is pull one from earlier 89/90Q in maybe at a pick and pull
and compare it.
Or get hold of 336F balljoint, which is from earlier model and compare it to
what you have on the car?
Doesn't seem like this is much help.

I have a '91 80q (cast control arms) and am replacing both front ball
joints. My issue is with the replacement right ball (893 407 366E) joint, it does
not have the same dimensions as the old one, the ball of the joint is located
~3/8" further foward than the original in relation to the mounting holes.
Also, the rod that goes into the strut is short by ~1/4". This all says wrong
part to me. The supplier says its the correct one. Its also the same unit
thepartsbin.com shows in their pic. The mounting holes work, and the rod dia
is the same. Anyone run into this before? Whats going one here!?
Thanks
Stacy
