  How the fault code connector look like ?
  Is it a black connector with a plastic grip each side ,  with 2 pins ?

  I found one. Gree/red and black/red wirre to it.

    Yes.  It is not installed in '89 Model Year.  However, if you remove the 
    instrument cluster and see empty bulb holder tied to back of harness, 
    that's the CEL.  Audi often puts connectors there that are not used.  For 
    example, on my 1985 4000 quattro, there's is not supposed to be a after run 
    circuit, but I found 2 unused pins on harness in engine compartment.  I 
    traced wires back to empty relay socket in relay panel behind driver's 
    lower dash panel.  All I had to do was to install proper after run relay 
    and install thermoswitch on bracket mounted to right rear of cylinder head 
    and I now have after run function.
