[s-cars] RE: Valeo wipers

RE: [s-cars] RE: Valeo wipersGood eye, James. I just put them on the car and
they are different than the Valeo. The Valeo has a moulded plastic backing
shaped like an aerofoil. The CTC wiper uses a flat spring steel strip to
tension the wiper. Same idea without the aerofoil. I'll see if they resist
lifting better than my regular rubber covered winter blades - they certainly
have a lower profile. I jumped the gun when I claimed they were "identical
in appearance" to the Valeo - they are not.
The regular winter blades I bought from CTC last week went back - totally
useless. They wouldn't even sit flat on the glass, just touched on the tips.
Crappy manufacture & quality - probably a China sourced item. Same price as
last year, poorer quality.

I suspected that when I glanced at the ad on the weekend, but the clip
looks different than the web site?... and Canadian Tire says they are made
exclusively for them... but it's a darn good price. Let us know if you like
them Fred!

These wipers are available in Canadian Tire stores under the "Reflex"
tradename. I just bought a pair for my UrS4 for C$19.99 each. They are
made
in the U.S.A and use the same ad artwork as the Valeo website, so I
suspect
they are the Valeo wipers - they are identical in appearance in any event.
Haven't tried them out yet - they'll get a good winter test this year
judging by the weather so far.
