The clips are going bad on my boot, but haven't broken. I cut up a tube from
a road bike and used strips of the rubber to tighten the fit. Basically, the
rubber folds in a U from the bottom of the clip, as you push the clip into
it's hole, the rubber tightens the fit. Just keep a small piece of tube in
your glove box to replace lost pieces.

I was also getting some noise caused by the shifter vibrating (very minor,
not due to any problems, and hardly noticeable, but it started to bug me),
so I used a section of the same tube fit under the shifter knob. The rubber
dampens it quite nicely and the diameter of the tube happened to fit
perfectly!

My road bike always seems to flat, so materials are plentiful!
