I've got one of those springs and a Idunnowhatitis chip (Stott?)
and is great, too! I can get boost from teh chip alone, but the
spring helps prevent premature wastegate cracking, giving
better response.
I've also tried shimming the stock WG spring using bicycle
bottom bracket/freewheel (!) spacers, which are thin and the
right diameter. You can shim up to about 1.5 bar on the digital
gauge before the overboost cut-out begins. It helps the throttle
response, but doesn't provide the same kick in the pants the
chip or 1.8 bar spring does.
