BAD dealer service

I should have mentioned in my original post that my dealer has a program
that if you buy the car there, all service is covered.
The mechanic I trust. Has a nice Porsche shop and he once worked at the that
dealership. I'll take a measurement tomorrow but from a visual, they were
LOW. I doubt any of them will be over 1.5 mils
Not sure what the mins are here in NY but I would have to think something in
the area of 2mil and I think each wheel has to be checked. I'll have to
check that.
Let me put a few facts out here for further study.
02 Allroad 17k miles dealer serviced according to schedule.Neither front or
rear pads ever replaced. But the rears were bad. The fronts I'm assuming
were fine. I'll find out tomorrow as I picked up the cars after hours. The
front tires were below limits and the rears were at least 1/2 tread. Which
in itself does not seem right All this at 17k miles.
Technically, this car shouldn't have passed inspection. It was also in for a
faulty signal flasher. Question-- do you think that the mechanic, looking at
the mileage just assumed everything was ok and just passed it?
On the subject of brake pads. In this day and age, when a car might not be
in the shop for 6 months or more and sometimes only once a year for an
inspection, don't you think the dealer should at least notify the customer
about possibly changing pads. I'm upset because the car was already in the
dealership. I gave it up for the day.
I'd also like to add that the reason I got this car is so I can just drive
it and not have to worry. As long as I wouldn't be in serious jeopardy, let
the thing break. Timing chain, transmission breakage, engine seize, I don't
care. It's leased, under warranty, maintained. It's their car.
Just replaced the stock tires with a set of Yoko H4Ss. Let's see how they
are for this car.
