Denis,

I checked the manifold vacuum on my 90 100Q.
It was 17-18 inches Hg upon cold startup.
Then it went up to 19-20 in Hg after a few minutes of warmup.
Both readings were very steady.
I used 2 different gauges, thats why I have two numbers for each reading. I
think the higher number is the more accurate number.

I havent checked the vacuum on the 88 5kq yet. The battery is disconnected.
I think I have a battery drain problem and looking into that.

I see now why you thought I was nuts for not spotting the vacuum taps on the
manifold. The 90 100q has the new style manifold, rectangular shape. And the
vacuum taps are right there on top.

The 88 5kq has the rounded curved intake manifold. No taps visible. The
vacuum tap is at the rear end of the manifold, under the ISV tubing. Not
easy to get at.

However, both cars have a vacuum check valve and tubing( for the A/C and
differential locks) that is easily visible and readily accessible.
Disconnect the plastic tube from the 2" rubber extension on the check valve
nipple, and hook up the vacuum guage.
Voila! It took 15 seconds.
