what is everyone thoughts on flushing an engine? i read the below and made
me think twice.. i also know someone who used motor flush on a vw van motor
and it collapsed all the lifters..

snip----
>I took the Passat to a VW dealership to have in inspected the first week I
>had it, so I'd know the true condition on the car. The report
>included sludge, brakes/rotor and a few other problems. The
>dealership that inspected it suggested an engine flush a.s.a.p..
>They said the cruise control check I wanted done was too time
>consuming to do it that day. I paid them and left.
>
>I went to another VW dealership and told the service dept. about the
>report and work that was suggested. The first thing I was told by
>them was:
>
>DO NOT get an engine flush. NOT now or ever. Change the oil and
>filter more often than every 3000 miles. 95% of engine flush
>solutions are solvents which contain Benzine and/or Turpentine. The
>benzine and turpentine deteriorate seals in the engine. This, I was
>told would cause multiple leaks in and from your engine in time.
