No start WAS: Fuel Distributor Connectors

Headed outside right now log book in hand to check and following as many suggestions from this group as I can...first thing is to measure for your 200 ohms.

Question: I was under the impression that the Differential Pressure Regulator (the two screw gizmo) was an auxillary control for fine tuning the amount of fuel to the injectors, and not a main control that would cause zero fuel to the injectors. I think I read that even with total failure of the diff pressure regulator you'd be still running on what was designed as "limp home mode" ...

Although the symptom could be from other items, I'd gather that the fuel distributor has an issue. EVEN though the fuel filter was changed, some dirt could have worked "upstream" from the filter to the fuel distributor area.............especially the two screw thingy I sent Marc a photo of.
If you can "run" the engine on starting fluid (ether) sprayed into the boot AFTER the fuel Distrib/potentiometer (and by quickly sealing the rubber boot back around the airflow plate..........................you can further NARROW the problem to the fuel distributor area. (Where I think their is a clogged line, gummed something or two screw regulator whose plugged passageway is keeping the fuel pressure in the fuel distrib unequal, so it won't run. The two screw gizmo can be measured with an ohm meter and should have a resistance value of ~200 OHMS. Infintiy or open circuit means NG.)

The filter was changed as the first attempt to solve the problem.

Problem is the engine starts and dies in one second or less. By putting a
constant twelve volts to the cold start valve (normally it only receives
power for a few seconds) it will run.
