pdf to dxf almost always, jpg sometimes.
I use adobe illistrator all the time fo this stuff, it depends on how your 
pdf was created but it can be done. If you can't get your hands on adobe, i 
can give it a try at work tommorrow. just reply off list.

Anyone now of a jpg, pdf to dxf,dwg or any cad type file conversion program.
I've found programs that convert into jpegs but the reverse.
