Voltage drop reading on guage '83 Coupe

Huw,

You say it is normal only on cars with under dash fuse box, but my car (87.5 CGT) behaves in in similar manner. Accessorires cause it to show lower voltage (although seldom below 12V, unless I have headlights, stereo system, wipers and cigarette lighter all at once). And the cigarette lighter causes the oil temp gauge to jump up about 28*C, also the fan on high cause the oil temp to jump about 15*C. Screwey Audi wiring...
