I know Honda does this. I suppose it's a manufacturing thing. It's much 
easier/cheaper to make a low tolerance crank grind, then measure the 
actual diameter after the fact. Honda has stampings on the crank for 
each bearing, and a color chart to order the correct replacements. If 
you buy generic bearings (all same size) then you *will* have oil 
pressure problems. The last Honda I rebuilt had three difference colors 
for the rod bearings alone.
