question about lifter tapping

I find that 10w30 is too thin for my engine. When I run 20W50 dino it seems happy. I've switched to Mobil 1 15W-50 to help clean out all the junkof years gone by. With the switch to Mobil 1 15W-50 I am getting more tick, but still not excessive. Another thing I've done to reduce tick is to add a quart of Marvelous Mystery Oil (MMO) to the oil about a week before every oil change. It's a pretty powerful solvent and helps ungum the followers (lifters) and oil galleries. It made a huge difference in my car. When I bought it, it had a totally stuck cam follower (lifter) that would never shut up. After 1 treatment it was quieter but it took about 3 treatments to totally quiet down.

Subject: question about lifter tapping

Hello all,

I just did an oil change on my 85 coupegt. I used a Mann filter as always
and mobil 1 10-30 oil. For some reason there seems to be a lot more lifter
tapping going on. Before it would tap when I first started it and then stop
after about 30 seconds to a minute. Now it is tapping at idle at stop
lights and such after 10-15 minutes. Would you say that it is an issue with
oil? Maybe delivery? Or a lifter issue? Just looking for some idea's as I
am at work and thinking about what I can do to rectify this situation

Thanks

Nate
