Denver has had PhotoRadar for over a year. It issues speeding tickets from photo snapped radar speed traps. It was challenged in the courts, pulled out of service till the judge ruled, and is now back in force. Boulder even has cameras at intersections to catch light runners with the same "technology".
And yes it is _very_ unpopular. But how long was the 55 limit unpopular?
