Thinking about getting a Mechanicaly-challened '88 90Q. Need
diagnosis and parts advice.

Did I really put it that way? Must have been half asleep... it is on
the top of the bell housing, and a bear to remove because of limited
access, but it can be done.

As bad as the job can be, it can also go very quickly.
A decent set of jackstands will get you enough clearance, btdt, took a
pair of us about 12 hours to do the whole job. Dollying the tranny out
and in on a floor jack is a bit hairy, it helps to be able to
comfortably bench-press 150 pounds, I suppose.
When the kid at the shop next door killed his 90Q clutch (kept trying to
do burnouts...!), one of the techs there did it for him one evening,
on a lift, of course. Using the bumper/transmission jack that I
couldn't figure out when doing one of my coupes. I think the whole job
took him about 4 hours. Amateurs move much slower...

Well, it might be an ok deal. $1200 is still a bit steep, but it's not
a rip off, if the rest of the car is sweet. And a color you like.

> Ohh yea, the car is Red, my fav Audi color :(
